How you came to know Christ
From my early childhood, I have always felt the presence of Christ; although, at the time, I did not identify the feeling with Him. However, during my teen years, attending church was not an enjoyable experience. It wasn’t until my twenties that I verbally accepted Jesus and was baptized. Since then, my relationship with Christ has grown and I know that He dwells within.
How you discovered FSBC of Hollywood
I was introduced to the church by someone associated with the church, Deacon Rafael. He invited me to assist with the Food Ministry, and I later attended Pastor Jackson’s Men’s Sunday School class. From both of those positive experiences, and the church’s warm embrace of fellowship, I felt the Spirit lead me to my new church home.
Ministry Involvement
I am involved in assisting the youth transition from high school to college or the work force. I provide advice about interviewing skills, resumes, and college planning. I also participate in missionary activities, and I lead a small Bible Study class. Separately, I serve as a church Deacon.
Ministry Vision
My ministry vision is to allow God to use our church and its members as He sees fit. I want us to totally submit to His will, and allow ourselves to be an example to others by demonstrating love and humility. I believe that our behavior will help lead others to Christ far more than our ability to quote Scripture. People sense a void in their soul, but they are unsure how to fill it. Christ is the only way, in my opinion. Still, until we, who are part of God’s kingdom, learn how to treat all of our brothers and sisters with equal respect, God is unable to fully use us to attract those who are in need of hearing His message. “How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Luke 6:42
